Scientifically, sleep is the body’s way of replenishing itself of lost elements. One of the biggest problems with not getting the sleep that we need is the inability to learn new things and memorize things.
Currently there are five different stages which have been identified by researchers throughout the years. These are stages 1, 2, 3 and 2 and REM.
While there are five stages when it comes to sleeping, the stages 1, 2, 3 , and 4 are logged known as the State non–rapid eye movement or NREM and the fifth stage of sleep is the stage known as rapid eye movement sleep.
Sleep Stage 1:
During the stages of sleep the first stage of sleep is known as a transitional period and during this time you can be quite easily awakened and will experience the repeating cycle of falling asleep and waking up several times. Read earplugs guide to help you have a good night sleep.
Stage 2 of Sleep:
It is during stage two that your eyes stop moving, your heart rate slows, your body temperature lowers and your brain waves slow. Earplugs guide would be helpful if you have issues with sleeping.
Stage 3 and 4:
This is when brain waves called delta waves achieve a slower pace and become intertwined with smaller and faster waves of the brain.During these two stages of sleep the brain waves are extremely slow. If a person is already at stage 4, it would be very difficult to wake this person up.Read earplugs guide to help you have a good night sleep.
Stage 5 or REM is when breathing becomes faster and more irregular and it is like the person is awake due to muscle activity and eye movement; however, he or she is deeply asleep and this is the time when most dreams happen. Always following a period of NREM sleep, the REM stage takes place throughout the sleep period and makes up approximately a quarter of the total sleep period and the first REM occurs at the end of Stage 1 and lasts about 10 minutes and the final REM stage lasts around 60 minutes. If you have issues with sleeping, consider getting earplugs guide.
The various states of NREM and REM are distinguished by the changes in the brain wave activity that takes place during sleep. Both the NREM and REM sleep occurs throughout the time when you are asleep and usually during the time that you are sleeping throughout the first one third of the night will consist of NREM sleep, while the sleep you enjoyed during the last one third of the night is typically REM sleep.
